This blog is for communication with family and friends outside of the kids' classmates. The kids are also keeping a website at NARinChina.blogspot.com. for their schoolmates. Make sure you check it out for pictures and postings from the kids each week.
We are leaving for Beijing on Monday the 29th. Char has an affiliation with the Central Minorities University there. We have rented a furnished apartment for the 3-4 weeks we will need to be there. We intend to take the kids sightseeing and we will be posting pictures.
All of China is 12 hours ahead of Eastern time, 13 hours ahead of Central time and 15 hours ahead of Pacific. (Not sure what will happen when Daylight savings changes things in two weeks.) We are also on Skype--so when we are in an area with high-speed internet, we can video conference for free with anyone of you with Skype. (It is an easy download and doesn't cost anything when you call computer to computer.) You just need to have a microphone for voice and a camera if you want to be seen by us.
The kids and I intend to stay until mid-February while Char stays on through August. We will finish out the school year in Portland and then rejoin Char in mid-June.
We will miss you all at the holidays!

Hope all is well. Still trying to get some sleep here. Lucas is cranky due to his first lower tooth/teeth coming in this week. He's also started solid food this last week; loves applesauce and green beans, hates rice mush.
We went and bought a camera speaker deal the other day, but we need to figure out the set-up and get the "skype?" program when I get a day off. Love A,T, & L
